Ladies of UX, Unite for Gender Equality
55% of UX designers are female. Yet UX design director roles skew significantly male. In the US, over 600,000 new businesses start each year; 38% of those businesses are started by women. Unfortunately, female founders are the recipients of a mere 2-6% of all VC funding.
Stats like this motivate me more than ever, and I believe the way we change stats like this is by women coming together to support each other.
Today, I want to give a shout-out to someone who is an inspiration to all the trend-breakers, trailblazers, and lovely ladies who have a passion for giving the boys a run for their money.
Ida Tin
Ida is the co-founder and CEO of Clue, the world’s fastest-growing female health app. Even more badass, before Ida started Clue, she led motorcycle tours around the world!
She is an inspiration to me personally because she’s leading the march on workplace equality, and is anything but silent about her beliefs and passions.
